Recycled Fashion Show

The Annual Recycled Fashion Show is a showcase for talented local teen designers, as well as at-risk teen girls attending PACE Center for Girls Broward, an alternative high school for those facing a myriad of life and or personal challenges. Over the course of four months, the young designers - who come from diverse backgrounds - collaborate to research the world’s environmental issues as inspiration for garments they create from 70% of recycled materials.

Through this event, the young designers gain experience in art, art history, design, environmental issues, ingenuity, public speaking, self-confidence and so much more. This event allows YAA art educators to conduct a weekly program at the PACE Center for Girls Broward, Girls ‘N Power a gender-empowerment building self-esteem and self-worth in at-risk teen girls.
