Classroom Outreach

We bring the magic of the Museum to you!
Children in grades Pre K-12 enjoy the excitement of hands-on learning in your classroom.

We supply all necessary materials accommodating a class of up to 30 children of all capabilities.

Each program includes an online Educator's guide with activities aligned with Florida's Sunshine State

Standards. Classroom teachers must be present during all programs.

Instructional time per session: 60 minutes

  • Adventures with Anansi the Spider (grades PreK-2)

Become enchanted by this magical folktale as you create your own African inspired art..

       • Colors of Latin America (grades PreK-8)

Explore the cultural history of Central America and make a mola inspired by the textiles of the Kuna Indians.

       •  Haitian Reflections (grades PreK-8)

Recollect personal experiences and design a reflection mirror inspired by the art of Haiti.

        • Journey to Japan (grades PreK-8)

          Visit modern Japan and learn the traditional arts of Gyotaku Fish printing and Haiku writing.

    Explore an exciting artistic link to th estudy of math and geometric patterns.
  • Mondrian Math (grades PreK-2)
    Discover the math behind the world famous artwork through use of shapes and division.

Create a recycled neighborhood collage as you follow the footsteps of Africa-American artist Romare Bearden

  • Save the Earth Paper Art Making (grades PreK-8)                                          

 Save our planet's natural resources and practice the 3R's of recycling through handmade papermaking.

  • Go Green Self Portrait (grades PreK-8)

Compose and configure your own self-portrait by using recyclable materials.

  • Weaving to Save the Planet (grades PreK-8)

Scheduling and Needs
Choose date and time according to your individual class needs.

Young at Art staff must be scheduled in one indoor central location with

access to a sink. A school official or classroom teacher must be present

at all times.

Payment for Outreach Programs
Balance-in-full must be paid in cash/check/credit card 5 days BEFORE the day we visit your school.

Young At Art personnel will not accept payment.

Cost
2 Sessions = $230 each; 3 Sessions = $210 each; 4 Sessions= $190 each

Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Martin Counties add $75 travel fee.

Chisseko Kondowe

  • Passport to Africa (All grades:We will customize program for your age group)
    Join Artist in Residence, Chisseko of Kenya and share an insder's view of daily life in a traditional East African village. This interactive program engages participants through art, music, artifacts, language and storytelling..
  • Rhythms of Life  (All grades:We will customize program for your age group)

All musical performance by Chisseko of Kenya will tranport students 8,000 miles away to a small village where a welcoming concert is about to begin.You will listen to the kalimba, congas, flute, talking drum, shaker and chigubu. Before you know it you will be out of your seat dancing and singing Harambee!

Includes Chisseko's newly-released CD "Jungle Jazz."

Cost
$325 for 1 hour. $225 for 2nd consecutive hour. CD included

Miami-Dade, Martin, Palm Beach counties: add $75 travel fee

Community & Corporate Outreach Programs
Bring the excitement of hands-on arts learning through our traveling programs to your office, library, hospital, church/synagogue, community center, or festival!

  • Art Workshop: Custom art activity 4-hour workshop $600. Each additional consecutive hour $100 All Materials included.
  • Corporate Team Building Sessions: 2-Hour collaborative art activity. $25/ person with min. of 25 participants.
  • Corporate Diversity Training Workshop: 2.5 hour corporate training sessions includes a private performance by Kenyan Artist-In-Residence Chisseko Kondowe and a unique hands-on Art Reflections Workshop. $500 for 50 participants. $5.00 each for additional participant.
  • NEW! Bring Your Child To Work Programs: Custom 1-Hour Art Workshops. All Materials included

          $210 for 1 Session/30 kids, $200 for 2 Sessions/30 kids each, $190 for 3 Sessions/30 kids each,

          $180 4 Sessions/30 kids each, $7 any additional child
