We bring the magic of the Museum to you!
Children in gradesPre K-12 enjoy the excitement of hands-on learning in your classroom. We supply all necessary materials accommodating a class of up to 35 children of all capabilities. Each program includes an Educator's guide with activities aligned with Florida's Sunshine State Standards.
Classroom teachers must be present during all programs.

Archeological Adventures, Grades 3-5
Journey to ancient lands where students become archeologists. Select from:

  • King Tut's Ancient Treasures

           Uncover the secrets of the pharoahs to gain better understanding of ancient and

           modern day Egyptian culture.

  • Israel Through the Ages

Examine and identify long lost artifacts, specimens and the diverse riches of Israel's historic lands.

M.C. Escher's Amazing Tessellations,Grades 3-5
An artistic link to the study of math and geometric patterns.  Discover "masterful" techniques to teach your students core curriculum through the arts.

Adventures with Anansi The Spider - Grades PreK-3.

Meet Anansi and discover the special beauty of this magical African folktale.  Language, character building and human family values are explored while reinforcing language skills.

Environmental Programs, Grades PreK-5
A lesson in environmental preservation as ecology merges with art. Select from:

  • "From Trash to Treasure" - Industrial by-products and cast-offs become artistic creations limited only by imagination.
  • Papermaking - Trace the ancient Chinese craft of papermaking and use recycled paper to create imaginative art.

Celebrate colorful cultures filled with art, language and history. Artifacts, customs and traditions are explored. A special arts workshop reinforces concepts and topics discussed. Choose from:

  • Africa
  • Egypt
  • Haiti
  • Japan
  • Mexico
  • Native America

Scheduling and Needs
Choose date and time according to your individual class needs. Young at Art staff must be scheduled in one indoor central location with access to a sink.

A school official or classroom teacher must be present at all times.

Payment for Outreach Programs
Balance-in-full must be mailed before or by the day we visit your school with checks made payable to Young at Art Children's Museum. Young at art personal will not accept payment.

Cost
One hour sessions: $150 per session with a minimum of two sessions per visit.

Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Martin Counties add $65 travel fee.

Outreach Assembly Performances featuring Artist-in-Residence,

        Chisseko Kondowe

  • Passport to Africa, Grades PreK-12
    Share a close look at the realities of daily life in a traditional African Village. Each program is filled with art, music, artifacts, culture and languages presented through engaging interactive activities. (Maximum of 250 participants)
  • Rhythms of Life , Grades PreK-12

This exciting performance takes you and your students to a small  Kenyan village in Central Africa. You will be introduced to eight different instruments including kalimba, congas, flute, talking drum, shaker and chigubu. Before you know it you will be out of your seat dancing and singing Harambee!

(Maximum of 300 participants)Includes Chisseko's newly-released CD "Jungle Jazz."

Cost
$325 for 1 hour. $225 for 2nd consecutive hour. CD included

Miami-Dade, Martin, Palm Beach counties: add $65 travel fee

 


Community Outreach Programs & Corporate Events
Bring the excitement of hands-on arts learning through our traveling programs to your library, hospital, church/synagogue, community center, office or festival!

  • Art Workshop: Custom art activity 4-hour workshop $500. Each additional hour $100
  • NEW! Corporate Team Building Sessions: 2-Hour collaborative art activity. $275 with max. of 35 participants.
  • NEW! Corporate Diversity Training Workshop: 2.5 hour corporate training sessions includes a private performance by Kenyan Artist-In-Residence Chisseko Kondowe and a unique hands-on Art Reflections Workshop. $500 for 50 participants. $5.00 each for additional participant.
